This inspiring trio tells Jewish stories in a tragically comical way in speech and also musical form. In this performance „the puppeteer of Warsaw“ you are taken along in the story of the eponymous novel ‚The puppeteer of Warsaw‘ by the English-German writer Eva Weaver. She used true facts and real characters as the basis for her novel.

On June 5, the Friends of Museum Sjoel Elburg Foundation and Museum Elburg will bring a special performance to Elburg: „The Puppeteer of Warsaw“, performed by Trio Wilde Eend. Can you ever learn anything from a war? And how do you stay upright when you’re in the middle of it? Trio Wilde Eend plays the story of the Jewish teenager Mika Hernsteyn who tries to survive in the Warsaw ghetto during the Second World War. In all the misery, Mika knows how to make a difference. Because with his puppetry he brings people some joy and offers hope. The lives of friend and foe in the ghetto are intertwined, through both their eyes we see the war and its aftermath. This largely true story is given even more color by moving Eastern European klezmer music and atmospheric improvisations.

Trio Wilde Eend consists of: Gottfrid van Eck, narration and clarinet. Juul Beerda, accordion. Jiska ter Bals, violin.

The concert will take place in the Rehobothkerk, Bloemstraat 18 in Elburg. Times and admission prices will be announced soon. Ticket sales will start mid-April on the website of Museum Elburg
