EricaTheater: Feestband SAHDW
On Friday April 25th, party band S’avonds Als Het Donker Wordt, or SAHDW, will perform in the EricaTheater. The band plays acoustic versions of pop classics from the Top 2000 and other hits, with polyphonic singing and various instruments for a time travel experience.
The band S’avonds Als Het Donker Wordt, or SAHDW, specializes in acoustically rewriting the most beautiful English-language hits from the Golden Age of pop music. This means a lot of music from the Top 2000, but also songs that make you wonder how it is possible that they never made it into the Top 2000. The band plays arrangements of songs by bands such as The Hollies, The Moody Blues, The Beatles, The Eagles and even Kiss, which are sometimes completely transformed, but always with great respect for the original, into a completely unique SAHDW sound. The most important element in the SAHDW repertoire is the polyphonic and varied singing. The gentlemen of a certain age accompany themselves on acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, bass, percussion, harmonica and violin. Over the years, SAHDW has performed in various theaters, but also in hotels and restaurants, in a church, in a castle, in museums, on the street, during festivals, on terraces, in living rooms, at the edge of an indoor swimming pool, in an apple orchard at the cemetery and even in the boxing ring. Music has the special ability to transport you back in time. This feeling is further enhanced during this performance by the fact that historical film material from the 60s, 70s and 80s will be played in the background. This promises to be a feast of recognition, for both the “older youth and the young elderly”.
