Young talented musicians from all over Europe play as a youth orchestra.
On August 13, they will play various chamber music pieces in a smaller group at Akoesticum. This year, the orchestra will open SAIL 2025, but before they can do that, they will play in front of you in Ede at Akoesticum.
About YOUNG
Concertgebouworkest Young is the international youth orchestra of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Musical talents from 14 to 17 years old from all over Europe form this unique symphony orchestra; they reflect the diversity of European society.
Concertgebouworkest Young is primarily intended for hidden talents: young musicians who deserve a helping hand and who are not visible enough in European orchestras. Young is a biennial project; the next edition will take place from 4 to 22 August 2025.
During the Young Summer School, the young people follow an intensive program. In addition to orchestral rehearsals, they practice per instrument group, are coached in chamber music and follow master classes. All under the guidance of musicians from the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Unique is the combination of these musical components with a program of United World Colleges. Professional trainers guide the young people in a program focused on personal growth, democracy and ambassadorship.
This edition Young will perform under the direction of Elim Chan at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.
