Canto Ostinato and Einaudi ft Zimmer on four grand pianos and string quartet
On Saturday 12 April, Arnhem’s historic Koepelgevangenis will be transformed into a unique concert location. That day, three special recumbent concerts will take place: two performances of Canto Ostinato and an exclusive string quartet version of Einaudi ft Zimmer. Arnhem residents and music lovers from the region will have the opportunity to experience classical and film music in a completely new way. During these concerts, you will not be sitting on a chair, but lying on an air mattress or mat, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the music.
Four grand pianos, four pianists, one enchanting Canto Ostinato
Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt is one of the most iconic works in minimalist music. What makes this performance extra special is that it is played by the only permanent four-grand piano quartet in the world: the Natalon Quartet. With four grand pianos and four pianists, an intense musical interplay is created in which every performance is different. The musicians determine on the spot how the music unfolds, so that no concert is the same.
Due to the enormous interest, an extra concert has been added at 5:00 PM in addition to the evening performance at 8:30 PM.
