Voorjaarswandeling
Special flora and fauna of the wet heathland landscape.
There are not many wet heathlands left in the Netherlands. Klein Bylaer is one such area and there are many special things to tell about it. The forest ranger will gladly take the participants on a tour of this beautiful estate. Over the centuries, the area has developed into an attractive coulisse landscape with many old trees, mixed forest and wet heath. There are many special plants. Whether we will see them now, so early in the spring, remains the question! The original water management system of flood meadows, springs and streams is also still intact. There are a number of large ‘spring craters’ under the area where exchange with the clean groundwater occurs. It promises to be an interesting afternoon. Advance online reservation is required. Tip from the forest ranger: It is wise to wear good walking shoes, it can be wet in some places. The terrain is not suitable for pushchairs, rollators, etc.
