P-Veluwe Drieseberg is located in one of the most beautiful and oldest forests in the Netherlands: the Speulderbos.
This ancient forest is located on the Veluwe massif, one of the many moraines that were created
when ice masses pushed up the land. Crooked, grown in the most wonderful curves
oak and beech trunks determine the atmosphere. The forest is a paradise for birds, badgers,
pine martens and wild boars. Neighborhood Three is probably named after the Germanic one
forest god Thri. It originated in the eighth century, when the Franks and Saxons fought fiercely
Veluwe fought. The Solsche Gat, to which a legend is attached, also reminds us of the
Germanic people who lived in the area and worshiped the sun god Sol. The area has a long history
occupancy history; burial mounds and wild walls testify to this.
