Anyone who plays the game takes an impressive bike ride through the municipality of Voorst and experiences Operation Cannonshot during the days of April 1945.

The cycling route starts at the Dorpskerk in Wilp and ends at Teuge airport. Along the way you will visit ten game locations that played a major role during the liberation operation Cannonshot. Canadian soldiers crossed the IJssel from Gorssel to Wilp with their Buffalos (amphibious vehicles). Using Augmented Reality (AR), you can really go back in time at the ten game locations. You can see in old photos what it used to look like where you are. You hear the animated conversations between Bertje and Grandpa Bril, which are supplemented with exciting sound effects that complete the experience.

The Go Veluwe App was invented and developed by Mathanje Huisman. It was her entry for the Veluwe Competition, awarded by the province of Gelderland in December 2017. By using a game with Augmented Reality and audio tours as an addition to the environment, exciting, educational stories are told. This makes cycling on the Veluwe an adventure for the whole family. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store and Google Play.

This route was made possible by the Province of Gelderland and Veluwe Remembers/Gelderland Herdenkt.
