Feel and see the influence that the former Zuiderzee had, and still has today, on the Hanseatic city of Harderwijk! With the southern Hanseatic route you cycle through the area between Harderwijk and Elburg, both picturesque fortified towns that are more than worth a visit. As you cycle through the narrow streets and past monumental buildings, you will feel like you have gone back in time! Along the way, make a stop at another historic location with a rich history: the 17th-century Essenburgh Castle. After junction 55, turn right onto Zuiderzeestraatweg and take a break while enjoying a snack and a drink
