Inspiring, rural, rich in water and green
The day starts and ends in the Nunspeet nature reserve, near the Veluwemeer and the Veluwe massif. Nunspeet attracts many people every year who gratefully use the walking and cycling routes that have been set out in the area. Nunspeet is a real painting village, where various artists have been active since the late 19th century. The raw farm life on the poor sandy soils was a rewarding source of inspiration for painters such as Jan Mankes, Ben Viegers and later Jaap Hiddink. You can see many examples in the Noord-Veluws Museum. At the Nunspeet Visitor Center you come face to face with Veluwe wildlife.
From Nunspeet you cycle to the Hanseatic town of Elburg; a historical pearl. From Elburg the route goes to ‘t Loo, where you can enjoy the next course in a fantastic location. You then cycle through the Veluwe forests to Wissel bij Epe. This area is one colorful collection of natural beauty that continues to surprise. It remains that way throughout the route. Be sure to take your camera with you to capture memories throughout the day.
