About the Wekeromse Zand
The Wekeromse Zand is a nature reserve of over 500 hectares southwest of Wekerom. This nature reserve consists of forest, heathland and arable land and a unique drifting sand area. That is special, because actively drifting sand hardly occurs in North-Western Europe anymore.
Find peace
The Wekeromse Zand is known as a quiet area. The area is ideal for spotting wildlife. Especially at dusk there is a good chance of seeing game such as boars, deer, foxes and mouflons. However, please note that it is not permitted to enter the area after sunset. During this trip across the Wekeromse Zand you will also pass a rest area for animals.
