Experience Slag om Arnhem

The Eusebius Church is internationally known for the Battle of Arnhem. In September 1944, during the Second World War, the Eusebius Church stood right in the line of fire. Together with the John Frost Bridge, the Eusebius Church is now the most important memorial site for the Battle of Arnhem. From the church tower, you have a view of the fighting sites. From the glass balconies on the Eusebius Tower, you have a good view of the impressive John Frost Bridge.

The Eusebius Tower is 93 meters tall and was rebuilt according to a new design after the Battle of Arnhem in World War II. You can get off at various floors to learn more about the Battle of Arnhem and the reconstruction after World War II. From the top floor, you have a view of the landscape of the Battle of Arnhem. Just hop in the elevator!

On the first floor of the tower, you are introduced to Jan Mijnhart through an exhibition and an animated film. He tells his personal story as sexton of the Eusebius Church. He talks about his preparations for the church services and the Sunday of September 17, 1944; the moment the Battle of Arnhem began. Wim Bozelie also tells his story in this space. He was the commander of the fire brigade. Together with volunteers from the air defense service, he was stationed in the tower to protect the Eusebius Church from fire during the Battle of Arnhem.
