P-Veluwe Poolseweg

A P-Veluwe is a free parking lot that serves as a starting point for exploring nature. Information panels point out the extensive tourist options that can be enjoyed from the car park.

Enjoy strolling through the forest or follow one of the many marked hiking trails. The Veluwe is also the right place for a wonderful day of cycling. You can directly connect to the extensive cycle route network. Coordinates: N52.10.858 E5.32.553

P-Veluwe Polenweg is an excellent starting point for a cultural-historical tour. Both

Elspeet like Ermelo has its own sheepfold with a flock. The Leuvenum forest, the

Ermelose heath, the Elspeet heath, but also the small and attractive villages and hamlets

make this peaceful environment a pleasant place to be. Harderwijk, Hanseatic city

with a rich past, is within cycling distance. The contours of the Ermelose heath are

an old Roman prison camp uncovered. The river flows straight through the Leuvenumse Bos

Leuvenumse Beek, the only stream in the Leuvenumse Bos and habitat of the kingfisher.

The stream originates near Uddel and flows into the Veluwemeer. From P-Veluwe Polenweg

This stream immediately catches the eye. The stream is given as much free rein as possible, when there is a lot of rain

the stream overflows its banks and significant areas of forest are flooded.

To walk

Six marked walking routes start from P-Veluwe Polenweg and 1 marked

wheelchair path. Because the Veluwe Zwerfpad also crosses this area, you can reach P-Veluwe from this

easily pick up a route. LAW Zuiderzeepad also meanders through the area.

Misuse

From P-Veluwe Polenweg, a large number of cycle paths will take you wherever you want

directions. At starting point 86 there is an overview panel of the Veluwe Cycle Route Network.

From this point it is possible to put together your own cycling route.

Horse riding routes

It is also possible to explore the area on horseback. There are various equestrian and driving routes,

including the day trip ‘Vierhouten’ of the Veluwe trail.
