Familiepad uitzichtpunt Schaapskooi Veluwezoom

Enjoy the heathlands on the Veluwezoom with this 2.3 km route that is also suitable for electric wheelchair users, prams and mobility scooters.

This route takes you across the Heuven estate. From the visitor center you go via Schaapskooi Heuven to the ‘Heuvense Bergen’ viewpoint. From this viewpoint you can enjoy the vast heathlands!

You start the route at the Veluwezoom visitor center at Veluwetransferium Posbank. Along the way you will pass the Uylenburg steward’s house. If you look closely, you can see the stone owl on the bell tower. The bell used to ring to indicate the start and end time of the staff’s work. Then you pass the sheep meadow where you can see the sheep grazing and past Schaapskooi Heuven. The route ends at the ‘Heuvense Bergen’ viewpoint where you can enjoy the heath hills in every season. From this end point you continue the same route back to the starting location.

Accessibility

Thanks to the zigzag path to the viewpoint, this route is also suitable for mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs and strollers. Please note: due to steep slopes along the way, this route is less suitable for manual wheelchairs and wheelchair users with guidance.

At the starting location Veluwezoom Visitor Center, there is a parking lot with 4 disabled parking spaces. There is also a wheelchair-accessible toilet in the visitor center.
