This is an octagonal, overhead mill from 1740. This very old mill once stood in Uithuizen (Groningen). In 1904, parts of this mill were transported by ship to Voorst and rebuilt here.
In 1967 the mill was restored and given its name: De Zwaan, named after the miller’s daughter Zwaantje. Thanks to the De Zwaan foundation, which has since taken over the maintenance and management of the mill, the mill can still be admired in good condition and running.
