It will not have escaped anyone’s attention: in 2022 the municipality of Nunspeet will celebrate its 50th anniversary. One of the festive events is the release of a beautiful new cycle route. This was put together together with Ermelo and is called ‘Deer & Peacock Route’. The length is – quite appropriately – 50 kilometers, and the route passes beautiful locations in both municipalities.
A number of highlights along the way are the sheepfolds of Elspeet and Ermelo, the Stakenberg, the cozy centers of both villages and of course Staverden Castle. The route continues through Hulshorst, through Elspeet and on the cycle path over the Beekhuizerzand.
Also nice: you pass four different windmills along the way.
