If you cross the road from EuroParcs De Hooge Veluwe, you are already at the Schaarsbergen entrance of the National Park. The perfect place to explore the vast heathlands and Veluwe forests of the largest national park in the Netherlands by (white) bicycle or on foot. In the park, a visit to the Kröller-Müller Museum with the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world is worth a visit, as is the Jachthuis Sint Hubertus. After half an hour’s drive you will also find yourself in ‘the Sahara of the Low Countries’, as Kootwijkerzand is also called.

Museums, castles and monkey watching

EuroParcs De Hooge Veluwe is located just outside Arnhem. In the pleasant city you can stroll through vintage shops and boutiques, have a bite to eat on the Rijnkade or walk in Park Sonsbeek. The city is also bursting with interesting museums such as the Arnhem War Museum, the Wine Museum and the Open Air Museum. You can also visit a number of castles in the area, such as the impressive Doorwerth Castle and Rosendael Castle. Rain or shine, in Burgers’ Zoo you will alternately imagine yourself in a tropical rainforest, a sweltering desert and a colorful underwater world. If you drive from the park towards Apeldoorn, you can watch monkeys in the Apenheul, experience an adventurous day in the Julianatoren Amusement Park or take a look at Het Loo Palace and the beautiful gardens.
