Oude Ambachten & Speelgoed Museum

Rijksweg 87, Terschuur

Two museums in one, with a total exhibition space of 4,200 m2. There is a truly unique and versatile collection of 160 Old Crafts and there are display cases full of beautiful and recognizable play attributes. There is also a do-it-yourself area.

The Old Crafts & Toys Museum in Terschuur houses no fewer than 160 (some pre-war) crafts, professions and shops and gives you a unique insight into the world of that time. The areas tell something about the history of the Netherlands in the period 1900-1980. And nothing in the museum is behind glass, so you literally step back in time! There is hours of viewing & playing fun! And you can simply touch and try out most of the pieces here. Or take a funny photo or selfie with the stuff. There are also volunteers in the museum several days a week who bring a craft back to life. You could easily come across crafts such as spinning, stained glass, clock restoration, bookbinding and printing. And for children there are two treasure hunts with which you can discover the past. In the toy section you will find a large collection of antique toys and a nice play area for the children. And there is also plenty to do outside at the Old Dutch Games Square. Just old-fashioned stilt walking, sack racing, horseshoe throwing or hanging jeans, it’s all possible here! The museum also has a museum café where you can relax and enjoy a delicious piece of cake or a delicious lunch. In short, looking for a unique experience for young and old? Then visit Terschuur!
