Landgoed Beekzicht

Beekzichtweg 42a, Voorst

Around 1820, Mr. Hendrik Jan Thooft (1787-1866) laid the foundation for the Beekzicht estate with the purchase of agricultural land and manor De Adelaar (built in the 16th century).

The foundation of the current estate was laid in 1820 when Mr. Hendrik Jan Thooft bought the De Adelaar farm. Over the next two centuries, the property was expanded along the Voorsterbeek and on the Voorsterklei to the current 500-hectare estate. The Beekzicht country house was built opposite De Adelaar in the first half of the 19th century. This country house subsequently remained the center of the estate until the Second World War.

Beekzicht extends from the Veluwe massif to the IJssel. Precisely because it is an estate, the qualities and characteristics of this area have been preserved and further enhanced. This applies to forests, farmland, farms, streams, fens, hedges, burial mounds, heaths and wet grasslands. Beekzicht also sells products from its own estate on the farms such as cranberries at De Kolke, potatoes at Pardijs, cheese at Welgelegen and beef from Brandrode cattle at De Adelaar. A nice glass of beer (Veluwe regional product) completes the menu.
