A beautiful wooded estate on the transition between the high land of the Veluwe and the low fertile land along the Drontermeer. The house is privately owned, but the estate is a beautiful cycling and walking area. A 4-kilometre walking route runs through the area along elements of the symmetrically landscaped 18th-century garden. The route description can be downloaded via https://www.glk.nl/landschappen-kastelen/location/landgoed-zwaluwenburg .

As early as the 13th century, there was a castle on this site named Wijnbergen. In 1728, Anthony Zwier van Haersolte had the current Zwaluwenburg house built. It is one of the coolest and most beautiful 18th-century country houses in Gelderland. The interior includes stuccowork in Louis XV style.

There are eight characteristic farms on the estate in traditional Gelderland architectural style. The estate forms a cool unity with a house, the farms and the surrounding landscape.

The estate also contains the A. Vogel gardens with countless medicinal herbs and plants. This produces beautiful flower fields with purple coneflowers and yellow St. John’s wort.
