Molen de Hoop

Molenweg 6, Elspeet

De Hoop is an octagonal wooden flour mill and was built in Elspeet in 1894. This mill was built to replace the previous mill that burned down.

There was a mill in Elspeet as early as 1565. Perhaps it was this one that burned to the ground on the evening of March 17, 1893. The current mill De Hoop comes from Wateringen and has been converted from a polder to a flour mill. De Hoop is an octagonal wooden flour mill and was built in Elspeet in 1894. This mill was built to replace the previous mill that burned down.

After a thorough restoration, the mill has been restored to its former glory and will now process grain from “homegrown” again. The first grain is harvested in a traditional way with an old combine.

The millers are present on Friday and Saturday to give you a tour of the mill.

There is plenty of free parking space in the immediate vicinity of the mill..
