Nederlands Openluchtmuseum

Hoeferlaan 4, Arnhem

The Dutch Open Air Museum is full of stories. The stories are hidden in historic houses, mills and farms that you will find in the museum park. Just like life, customs and traditions.

The Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem captures the history of our everyday lives. In authentic buildings, objects and true stories. We take you on a journey through time. From two centuries ago to very recently. You’re short on eyes and ears. The people of the museum seem to have walked away from the past. Proud of their heritage, they inspire you with their stories and are curious about yours.

Canon of the Netherlands

In the interactive Canon presentation at the entrance you can view and experience the ‘major events’ of our history for yourself. You put yourself in the shoes of an enslaved person, experience how hard the work was back then or steer your own ship. In the cinema you will learn more about your own (regional) history in a short time. The entire Canon of the Netherlands can be visited with an audio tour. So worth a visit!

Guided tours

Would you like to enrich your group visit to the Open Air Museum? A guided tour is the solution for this! An enthusiastic guide takes you back in time and tells unknown stories that tie in with the highlights of the museum.

Combine with lunch or dinner

Would you like to extend your group visit with a lunch or dinner in the nostalgic museum park? Guided tours can also be given in English or German and cost €55 per group. Then take a look at our food book and discover the many possibilities. Would you prefer a tailor-made request? Our employees are happy to help you.
