The farm was abandoned in the early 1990s and was transformed into a ruin 10 years later by the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten. And this has created a very interesting place for plants and animals. You see deer walking, an owl lives in the ruins, bats swarm around, wall snapdragon grows over the old walls. Bring your binoculars to have a good look around here!
From the parking lot at the Veluwezoom Visitor Center in Rheden you can walk straight to the observation post via the 1.5 km long walking path. Or walk this beautiful 10-kilometre tour from the Beekhuizen estate.
