The Veluwezoom is a true Eldorado for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. More than 5,000 hectares of forest, heathland, drifting sand and estates on the eastern edge of the Veluwe are at your feet. In 1930, the Veluwezoom was the first nature reserve in the Netherlands to receive the status of a National Park and we still enjoy it!
Climb up the hills with your mountain bike or enjoy the beautiful heathland while cycling and who knows, you might spot a red deer or wild boar along the way. From the 90 meter high Posbank you have a beautiful view over the Veluwe, IJssel and far into the Achterhoek. Other hotspots are: the sheep herd in Rheden, the streams and springs near Beekhuizen and Laag-Soeren, the De Elsberg wildlife viewing hut near Dieren or the Herikhuizen wildlife observation post near Rheden.
