The Maarten van Rossumpad is named after the 16th-century army commander in the service of the Duke of Gelre, the area through which the path runs. A beautiful part of the Netherlands, which is so aptly described by Marsman in his poem ‘Thinking of Holland. The Netherlands has more green than you think.
