Monument Veldweg

In 1963, a war memorial was placed on the corner of Veldweg-Oude Kerkweg in Doornspijk. The memorial was made by sculptor Jan de Melker from Oostendorp. The monument consists of a stone pillar with a war image on the sides

In 1963, a war memorial was placed on the corner of Veldweg-Oude Kerkweg in Doornspijk. The memorial was made by sculptor Jan de Melker from Oostendorp. The monument consists of a stone pillar on which a copper table decorated with war images is mounted on the sides. This table lists the names of all the fallen from the Second World War in the municipality of Doornspijk. A small copper pillar on the table contains the words ‘God with us’ with a copper bowl above it. Behind this monument a small hill has been created with a large boulder on it. A beautiful lawn with trees and plants has been laid out around the monument.
