Nature, food, and community take center stage. Local residents are creating a climate-friendly place here for plants, trees, animals, and people. This Food Forest is one of the first public food forest parks in the Netherlands.
A place where ordinary greenery has been transformed into an edible landscape that grows richer every year and where we meet. The design is based on permaculture. There is space.
for hedges, forest edges, and water catchment. As a result, it sometimes looks more exciting and adventurous than parks designed primarily for people. The food forest was conceived and is maintained by a diverse team of volunteers. Everyone is welcome to help out and harvest. Guided tours and workshops are held regularly. There are also neighborhood gatherings, and we celebrate the seasons together. Food Forest Nieuwe Erven belongs to this neighborhood. Living, good food, and nature come together here.
