A forest with free-roaming monkeys, that is Apenheul. In this beautiful, green park on the Veluwe you will discover around 300 monkeys. Of these, half of them simply run loose among the visitors!

Face to face with free-roaming monkeys

Experience the best day out among the monkeys in Apenheul! In this green nature park you will find 35 species of monkeys. More than half of the 300 monkeys even roam freely among the visitors. Can you spot them all? Come face to face with free-roaming monkeys, visit the feeding presentations of our zookeepers, play the monkey in one of the playgrounds and meet the new gorilla leader Banjoko!

Visit impressive gorillas

Impressive powerhouses of up to 180 kilos: gorillas! Recognize yourself in the biggest, strongest and heaviest monkeys that exist. Find out what they eat, how fast they can run and flex your muscles: are you as strong as an impressive silverback? Try it!

This year you will spot a second gorilla man in Apenheul: Banjoko! Both silverbacks have their own island where they lead their own gorilla group. How do they keep those women under their thumb? You will discover it in our beautiful and spacious park, in the middle of the forests of Apeldoorn on the Veluwe!
