Next to the sheepfold is the Ermelosche Heide visitor center. Inside you will find information about the sheep, the shepherd and dogs, the bees and nature in the area. There are short films about the flock of sheep and the work of the shepherd.
The tactile wall shows ways of processing wool, such as weaving, spinning and felting. There are stuffed animals and treasure hunts for children. Upstairs there is information about the bees and you can view a bee colony up close.
There is a playground for young children and a terrace with a beautiful view over the Ermelosche Heide.
There are cozy seating areas in the visitor center and various types of coffee, tea, soft drinks, ice cream and pastries are available at the counter. Regional products and wool products are also sold there. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet and a stair lift to the attic floor.
Many activities are also organized for young and old, such as wool felting, walking excursions and children’s crafts.
