Prior to the performance, an introduction will take place discussing the story, historical background, and creation of Kolja. It will also reflect on what it is like to be deaf and to experience the world differently.
The introduction will be provided by director Jeroen Lopes Cardozo, together with Hendrik de Jong from Het Roze Gebaar (a foundation for deaf and hard-of-hearing people in the LGBTIQ+ community). A Dutch Sign Language interpreter will be present during the introduction.
