The Lorkenbos in Otterlo is a real Veluwe family business that has been the destination of peace seekers from all over the Netherlands and Belgium since 1954.
A holiday surrounded by nature
Wake up to birdsong, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then decide what you feel like doing today. A long woodland walk? A bike ride? Or another cup of coffee on your own terrace? At Het Lorkenbos, there’s no rush to do anything at all.
You’ll find our small, family-run holiday park on the edge of Otterlo. Stay in a holiday cottage beside the heathland or among the tall larch trees. It’s a lovely place to leave everyday life behind and make time for each other.
Nature starts at your doorstep
Put on your walking shoes and head outside: from your holiday home, you can walk straight into the woods, towards the heathland and sandy expanses. There’s plenty to discover along the way. Stop for coffee and a treat at Boerderij de Mossel, or head to De Valenberg viewpoint for beautiful views.
And when you get back? Put your feet up and enjoy a little more time outdoors.
A little spa indulgence for two
Take time for each other and treat yourselves to some extra comfort. Our new spa cottage, De Kievit, is perfect for a relaxing break for two. Warm up in your private sauna, sink into the whirlpool bath and enjoy the peace around you.
With a covered terrace and an enclosed garden at the edge of the woods, spending time outdoors is just as lovely. Everything you need to make a few days away feel extra special.
Bring the whole family to De Spar
Enjoy breakfast around a long table, play games and chat until bedtime comes around again. Our family holiday home, De Spar, sleeps 16, with room for children, parents and grandparents.
De Spar consists of three connected cottages with a large shared living area. Spend time together, with the option to retreat to your own part of the house whenever you like. Outside, a spacious terrace overlooks the heathland. A lovely setting for a family weekend and making new memories.

If you use a wheelchair or need additional facilities, we’re happy to help you find a suitable place to stay. We have several wheelchair-friendly holiday homes, some of which also have a height-adjustable bed.
Everyone’s needs are different, so you’re very welcome to visit before booking. Together, we can see which home best suits you and your group, giving you peace of mind before your holiday begins.

At Het Lorkenbos, we’re all about a relaxed atmosphere and a personal welcome. Borrow a game or make use of the other items we offer on loan free of charge. During the summer months, our outdoor swimming pool and recreation team add to the holiday fun.
