The Veluwe starting point Leuvenumsebos is located in the heart of the Leuvenumse Bos. This starting point near the village of Leuvenum is the ideal base for hikers, families, and nature lovers. From the car park you walk straight into the forest — full of winding paths, streams, clearings and deciduous and coniferous forests.
🚶 The 6.5 km Leuvenumse Bosen walking route near Ermelo , designed by Natuurmonumenten (Dutch Society for Nature Conservation), is highly recommended. The route takes you through diverse natural landscapes, along old hunting trails, past fallen trees, and the meandering Leuvenumse Beek stream—the habitat of kingfishers and beavers, among others.
For families or visitors looking for a shorter, accessible route, there’s the Leuvenumse Bossen Family Trail . This 2.5-kilometer path is mostly paved and suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters. There are play areas for children and benches for breaks along the way.

From here, you can walk straight into the forest and reach both the Familiepad route and the longer Natuurmonumenten walking route in just a few minutes.
