Vitesse is Arnhem and Arnhem is Vitesse, and has been since 14 May 1892. Behind Vitesse lies 130 years of history, in yellow and black. One club, two colours. With all our heart. We wear it with pride, with passion. With these colours, nothing can really happen to us.
Yet plenty happens at Vitesse. Because boring, it never is in Arnhem. We do things our own way here. Perhaps strange to others, but for us, the passion of yellow-black.
Our colours symbolise the extremes of our club. We see yellow with relief and euphoria, but also black with disappointment and sadness. Optimism regularly loses out to merciless cynicism. We cheer, we grumble.
Easy, it is not always. But you don’t become a Vitessenaar; you are one. We cannot explain that. If you want to know, you should stand with 15,000 people, in yellow and black, singing non-stop for 90 minutes in GelreDome. That is possible, check our website for more information.
